Wattpad Reviews! (Part 2)

Since the first Wattpad Review, I have read six others. To be quite honest, I think I binge read Wattpad stories. I didn't read anything from Wattpad for a good three weeks, and all of a sudden September rolled around and I felt the need to check out some stories. Out of the six, I'll be mentioning only five, because I was indifferent to one of them and don't have much to say about it. Let's get on to it!

1.) The Cell Phone Swap by Lindsey Summers
Keep in mind the author's username for the app is DoNotMicrowave, so if you type in the name above, you might not find the book!

I was pleasantly surprised by The Cell Phone Swap! I didn't know much going into the book and to be honest, the cover is what made me click on it and start reading. The plot centers around a girl Keeley and how she mistakenly swaps phones with Talon, and arrogant and sex driven teenager. There's this big reveal about halfway through that was done really well, but after that there was a lot of drama that was unneeded in my opinion. Both Talon and Keeley kept on fighting the same fight over and over again, which got on my nerves. Overall though, the book was a lot of fun and kept me on my toes while reading it. Though I liked the first half way more than the second, I would still recommend this to read if you're looking for a quality read on the app!

2.) My Brother's Best Friend by KnightsRachel

My Brother's Best Friend is a story that centers around my guilty pleasure plot. Emily has just moved in with her twin once coming back from rehab and it met with the unexpected when she learns that she has another roommate, Parker. I really loved the writing style of the book, but I didn't really like the two main characters that much. Emily frustrated me often throughout the book because she would make snap judgments of people, more specifically girls that would hang around Parker. Like in The Cell Phone Swap, there was tons of unnecessary drama. However, I still liked this book. It was just short of three stars, but it was worth the read. The epilogue at the end was almost perfect.

3.) In 27 Days by HonorintheRain

In 27 Days blew me away. As you can tell from the ratings, this and Touch Me Not were my favorites of the five. This novel centers around our main character Hadley. In the beginning of the book, we learn that a person in her school, Archer Morales, had committed suicide. Hadley is surprised by the news but even more shocked when Death himself pays her a visit and gives her a chance to save his life. Needless to say, I could not stop reading this book! It was so good and on par with a lot of the young adult novels out there. The climactic scene of this is off the charts and if I were to have read this when it was only being updated and I had to wait for the next chapter, I would have died with anticipation! In 27 Days is a must read for any wattpad users who like the YA genre.

4.) Touch Me Not by Apryl Baker
Apryl Baker's username in the app is AprylBaker7.

After having such a great experience with In 27 Days, I wanted to read something that was completely different. That turned out to be Touch Me Not. This novel centers around Lily, a bookworm who is known around campus to be the go to tutor and who happens to have a phobia of physical contact. Nikoli, the bad boy of campus, is intrigued by Lily. Soon enough the strike up a deal that will not only try to help Lily with her phobia but Nikoli and his sleeping around. Touch Me Not was such an addicting read and delved into deep topics and handled itself really well. The novel was fun and steamy, and I could not put it down for the life of me. I applaud the author. She didn't just make me care for the characters, she made me root for them as if they were real life people. I'll definitely be picking up more of her stuff. Keep in mind this is more new adult than young adult, so there are some more graphic scenes than you would see in your typical young adult novel.

5.) Bon Bons to Yoga Pants by Katie Cross
The author's username is also different, and is under KatieCross4.

I just finished Bon Bons to Yoga Pants just today, and I didn't mean to. I only just gotten into the double digits chapters of this 55 part story. To say that this novel is addicting is an understatement. Cross's writing immediately pulled me in and even though I sometimes got really annoyed with the main character, I could not put it down. Bon Bons to Yoga Pants is a chick lit novel about Lexie Greene's journey to lose weight in preparation for her little sister's wedding and to impress Bradley, who she messages with on Facebook. Though she starts for the wrong reasons, Lexie really grows as a character and her story was truly inspiring. This is exactly what chick lit should be.

As I'm sure you can tell, I enjoyed these a lot more than the first four I picked up. I've noticed that I am more drawn to books that are not only contemporary, but are different than most Young Adult books I have read. Yes, there are a lot of bad boy contemporaries and the sort, but there are also a lot of unique contemporaries with concepts that I have not seen published. For me, I like those stories a bit more just because their nothing like I've ever read. I'm really hitting my groove with wattpad, but like I said before, I am going to take a break for a little bit. If you are looking for your next read, maybe take these into consideration! You can find me on Wattpad here!

Happy Reading!
